V dňoch 4. – 9. decembra 2022 sa v nemeckom Saalfelde uskutočnilo prvé projektové stretnutie v rámci projektu Erasmus+: Po stopách židovskej histórie v Európe. Zúčastnili sa ho žiaci a učitelia z Nemecka, Litvy a Slovenska.
Čoraz častejšie sa v našej spoločnosti stretávame s antisemitskými postojmi. Z tohto dôvodu sme sa rozhodli pre projekt, v ktorom sme sa zamerali na skúmanie židovskej histórie. Takýmto spôsobom totiž možno čeliť antisemitizmu a diskriminácii.
V našom programe nechýbala návšteva miest, ktoré súviseli so židovskou minulosťou regiónu. Dozvedeli sme sa o tragických osudoch židovských rodín priamo v Saalfelde. Pripomínajú nám ich pamätné mosadzné kocky Stolpersteine.
V Erfurte sme navštívili Starú synagógu, ktorá pochádza z 11. storočia. Je tu vystavený tzv. Erfurtský poklad a množstvo cenných rukopisov, ktoré vypovedajú o živote židovskej obce v stredoveku.
O holokauste sme sa počas stretnutia dozvedeli mnoho faktov, ale najviac emócií v nás určite vyvolala návšteva koncentračného tábora Buchenwald. Tu sme videli všetky tie miesta, ktoré sú dodnes synonymom krutosti.
Weimar, mesto Goetheho a Schillera, nás privítalo vianočnou atmosférou a vďaka našim partnerom sme sa čo-to dozvedeli o histórii mesta.
Počas celého projektového týždňa sme si posilňovali vedomie, že judaizmus je dôležitou súčasťou našej minulosti i súčasnosti.
Zároveň sme si zlepšovali digitálne a jazykové zručnosti, spoznávali zvyky a tradície hostiteľských rodín a užívali si krásnu vianočnú atmosféru nemeckých miest.
Erasmus+: Exploring Jewish History in Europe
From 4 to 9 December 2022, the first project meeting was held in Saalfeld, Germany, as part of the Erasmus+ project titled “Exploring Jewish History in Europe”. It was attended by students and teachers from Germany, Lithuania, and Slovakia.
In our society, we encounter anti-Semitic attitudes more and more often. For this reason, we decided on a project in which we would focus on the study of Jewish history. We believe this is how anti-Semitism and discrimination can be challenged.
Our programme included a visit to places connected with the region’s Jewish past. We learnt about the tragic fates of Jewish families in Saalfeld itself. These families are remembered through commemorative brass cubes called Stolpersteine.
In Erfurt, we visited the Old Synagogue, which dates back to the 11th century. The so-called Erfurt Treasure is on display here, along with a number of valuable manuscripts which tell us about the life of the Jewish community in the Middle Ages.
We learnt many facts about the Holocaust during the meeting, but the visit to the Buchenwald concentration camp certainly evoked the most emotions in us. Here we saw all the places that, to this day, are synonymous with cruelty.
Weimar, the city of Goethe and Schiller, welcomed us with a Christmas atmosphere, and thanks to our partners we learnt something about the history of the city.
Throughout the entire project week, we strengthened our awareness of Judaism as an important part of our past and present. At the same time, we improved our digital and language skills, got to know the customs and traditions of the host families, and enjoyed the beautiful Christmas atmosphere of German cities.
